Job Title:
Integration Architect – ACES & PIES with Dynamics 365 F&O
About the Role:
We’re looking for an experienced Integration Architect for a focused 2–3 hour consulting engagement to define the ideal integration strategy between ACES & PIES automotive catalog data and Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O. You'll advise on dataflow design, architectural tradeoffs, dynamic matching logic, and downstream distribution strategies, ensuring a scalable, secure, and high-performance solution architecture.
Experience:
- 8+ years in data architecture, ETL, and ERP integration
- 3+ years working specifically with Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O
- Experience working with ACES & PIES XML data standards is highly preferred
Location: Remote
Type: Contract – 2 to 3 Hours (One-Time Consulting Engagement)
Project Start Date: Immediate
Time Zone: Flexible, preferred overlap with EST or IST
Key Responsibilities:
- Define the most suitable architectural approach for integrating ACES & PIES XML data with Dynamics 365 F&O.
- Evaluate whether to stage and transform data before ingestion or push directly into F&O using tools like Dataverse, Azure SQL, or middleware layers.
- Design an integration that supports flexible, scalable access for ERP users, APIs, and sales channels like ecommerce portals and chatbots.
- Compare Dataverse vs Azure SQL vs Other options based on:
- Fitment and product attribute complexity
- Downstream API and reporting needs
- Compatibility with Dynamics 365 F&O’s product/item master
- Recommend whether a hybrid architecture (Azure SQL + Dataverse) would offer a balanced solution.
- Define a high-level dataflow from XML ingestion → transformation → mapping → loading into D365 F&O → sales channel distribution.
- Choose appropriate orchestration tools: Azure Data Factory, Logic Apps, or custom ETL pipelines.
- Propose strategies to match external catalog SKUs with internal ERP items using:
- Manufacturer part numbers
- Brand/inventory mappings
- Rule-based or dynamic logic
- Address how to handle mismatches, duplicates, or partial matches in product data.
- Outline how ACES/PIES data can enrich ERP item records (e.g., fitment metadata: year/make/model).
- Identify which fields, extensions, or entities in D365 F&O can store enriched metadata.
- Confirm if users can query/filter/report on fitment data directly in ERP.
- Suggest strategies to reuse the integrated data across channels like:
- B2B/B2C ecommerce websites
- Chatbots (fitment-based product recommendations)
- Advise on API exposure from Dataverse/Azure SQL vs caching mechanisms for real-time sync.
- Plan for scalability, schema versioning, and maintainability of frequent ACES/PIES updates.
- Recommend logging, monitoring, and error handling best practices for robust operations.
- Evaluate cost and licensing considerations across Azure SQL, Dataverse, and other services.
- Propose ways to minimize data replication without sacrificing performance.
Key Skills:
- Dynamics 365 F&O Product & Item Master Data
- ACES & PIES data standards (XML-based)
- Azure SQL & Microsoft Dataverse
- Middleware integration architecture
- ETL pipeline design (ADF, Logic Apps, Custom Solutions)
- Rule-based SKU Matching & Product Mapping
- API Management & Distribution Logic
- Experience with Auto Care Association updates & version control
Certifications:
Preferred: Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations Apps Solution Architect Expert
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field
